Windships are not the only means by which to travel by air. Other forms of air conveyances include:
- The Prang ride the unparalleled
reptilian Ridge Rakes.
- The Mayedans have tamed the half
wasp, half dragonfly-like Shiran bugs, but while amazingly nimble,
are difficult to control.
- The Zirtese invented their own unique flyers called Boskyn flyers -- made with living the Boskyn pods. These flyers can carry 1-2 Zirtese per vehicle, that aside from being very light and effective gliders, use a special pollen that explodes when exposed to Boskyn filaments -- this is one of the foods a Boskyn pod consumes. This pollen is very hard to collect, so it used for take-offs and emergencies only. They are fast personal vehicles, but have a limited range compared with windships.
There are no horses (this is Rhunyen after-all), but on the ground, several animals have be domesticated for transporting people and supplies.
- The quick two-legged reptilian
Bremma, used mostly by Hoshens and Pontari as mounts and beasts of
burden.
- The massive insectoid Korgant are
mainly used as beasts of burden.
- The Go'forg are smallish insects
the Zu'ar use to work their farms, and which the Zirtese have
adapted to using as beasts of burden and occasionally as
mounts.
- Wooden carts and Riso wagons pulled by Bremma or Korgant are not uncommon either.
