The Ancient
Obidan
The Obidan were a once great and powerful culture who possessed tremendous magics, but were destroyed during the Night of Fallen. What is known of the Obidan has been passed down orally by the Prang & Zu'ar, and what has been gleaned by various cultures at the various Obidian ruins found on several continents. The Obidan are said to be an oddly bi-pedal, multi-armed insectoid race -- at least that's what reliefs and statues suggest. Their building skills are very foreign to the what the current cultures of Rhunyen know. It is said by the Prang that long ago the Obidan appeared in the world overnight, and remained mysterious and unconnected to all the the old world's cultures.
Other Lost Races
According to the Prang, and some reliefs and statues in Obidan ruins, there were at least two other races that thrived before the Night of the Fallen. The Prang imply they warred with one race of insectoid fliers over millennia, and the other was said to be a strangely elusive race that had undefined, quite malleable forms (something like gelatin). No ruins, remains or artifacts can support this, so it is not known if the Prang stories are accurate.
