The Zirtese (part of the Rhun Realms)
The Zirtese are one of the young races of Rhunyen. There are a small bipedal mammalian race with soft features vaguely similar too, but NOT LITERALLY akin to a mix of feline with a bit of monkey. They have short fur and a prehensile tail. There are two types of Zirtese: the shorter (4'), stockier and fairer furred Nin, and the taller (5'), thinner, darker furred Zoti. Much like domesticated cats, their color patterns vary. Both are equally adept at being farmers, collectors, air sailors, scholars, inventors, and many are fluent in the ways of Zanzu -- natural alchemy. The Zirtese are pleasantly open to all the races, aside from their long-time rivals, the Hoshen and the Prang -- both of whom have plagued them for generations. The Zirtese have alliance with the Zu'ar and Drenas, which forms what is common called the Rhun Realms. The Rhun Realms are made up of these three races who have a mutual friendship/alliance, and allow each to freely travel/trade in and amongst their lands without concern. They alsom have a very friendly relationship with most Mayedan merchants, though disdain their constant in-fighing. The Zirtese are the most "in touch with nature" explorers of all the races. The Zirtese can pursue many common carriers, but most players will probably be most interest in trackers, collectors of flora/fauna/item, Boskyn flyer pilots, or practitioners of Zanzu -- the Zirtese art of Alchemy (which has a holistic/naturalist bent). There is a constant demand for Zanzu goods in almost all the major cities of the world, which assures the Zirtese a stable place in Rhunyen. Those that choose to be Zanzu alchemists typically specialize in one of the following: potions, elixirs, salves, powders, along with the more inventor-foced creating Zanzu-infused gadgets & crafts. They love to find ingredients to mix, crush, polish, steep, distill and build that, when combined, make wondrous things that are "almost" magic (they aren't, but their effects/uses can make them seem so). The biggest thing about Zanzu alchemists is they don't actually have a written language -- though they do love to draw -- so EVERYTHING is memorized. Zirtese have incredible memories for natural details. This makes their art difficult to learn even by Zirtese, and near impossible by any other races. This is somewhat intentional, as Zanzu guarantees the Zirtese both economic and political stability. Those that choose to be Boskyn flyer pilot tend to either be risk-taking explorers or warriors who either don't have the memory or flair for Zanzu. Because of the nature of what a Boskyn flyer is, they tend to be good an ani-plant husbandry (a mix of plant and animal).

Side note: All Azor seem to find Zirtese extremely tasty, so they avoid Azor lands unless escorted or in numbers.
